reduce - reuse - recycle
we believe in supporting a cleaner future, for us and for our children. here's how we do it.
at anokha, we do things a bit differently. here's how we're helping to create a cleaner future with our products and our manufacturing methods:
ingredients:
- natural/organic: our products are 98-100% natural, and organic ingredients are used when available. nature-identical synthetics are used only when the natural form is endangered. for additional information about specific ingredients, please visit ingredients.
reduce:
- containers: all of our containers are glass, which is more readily recyclable than plastic.
- closures: the orifice reducers on our oil and serum bottles are made from recyclable plastic. the lids and caps are not recyclable, but can be returned to us for reuse, or cleansed and used again by you for any other purpose. pumps are not recyclable and should be discarded after use.
- boxes: our retail boxes are made from recyclable paper.
- ink: the ink used on our boxes are created with HP Indigo presses, which are designed to keep the levels of energy and supplies required for each print as low as possible. the parts that form the machines, the ink cartridges, the waste materials and the hardware are collected from the printer and recycled or taken back and included into reuse programs. as a result, the carbon footprint is reduced per printed item. the inks also do not contain substances that are listed on the US Federal list of Hazardous Air Pollutants, including phthalates or bisphenols. the digital presses contain a capture and control system that reduces the majority of volatile organic compound emissions released during the printing process. the ink used in the silkscreening process on our bottles and jars is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant.
reuse:
we are happy to accept any reusable packaging from you in return for a 10% discount off your next order. items eligible for reuse include our glass bottles, caps, and lids. orifice reducers and pumps cannot be accepted.
please wash out your items prior to wrapping securely and shipping to anokha, 1021 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10028. be sure to include your name and email address for your discount code.
recycle:
items which can be recycled in glass recycling include all of our glass bottles. retail boxes should be placed into paper recycling. lids, caps, orifice reducers, and pumps are generally not recyclable.
